This memorial foundation was inspired after 18 year old Katee Hessler was senselessly murdered in an attempted robbery in North St. Louis County on August 30, 2001.

Katee grew up in the suburbs of St. Charles and ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. She became a victim of violence for greed of drugs or money. Katee's death deeply affected everyone who knew her. Lives changed forever. Katee experienced some tough times as a teen, overcame her obstacles and wanted to help others.

The foundation has 2 basic missions:

1. To assist teens and young adults in need of guidance and financial aid with counseling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, teen pregnancies, education and job placement.

2. To help in the fight against crime, violence and the unlawful use of guns and narcotics.

Memorial Garden

In June of 2002 Katee's family and friends planted a memorial garden with a purple bench swing in Lake St. Louis' Boulevard Park overlooking the pond. Thanks to the following who made this possible:

  • Dave Reynolds and the LSL Park Board
  • Pat Bellrose of Fahr Greenhouse in Wildwood for donating the beautiful flowers.

Thank you for your support of the Katee Hessler Foundation. Pic's from the festival and info can be found here.
